Poem 04:37

about

Mary Horton was born in Jersey and lived there through the German Occupation. Her poems were tightly written, in one way perfectly accessible, but also with layers of meaning. Several had been published. Mary died during the creation of this album in 2004.
Mary was very attracted by exploring the way in which a person can be locked in themselves, unable to communicate or to be part of the wider group. Other themes of importance are oppression by a state or community of the person individuality. Or the theme can be the way in which a person can be locked into their situation.

But she is also capable, as in Poem, of creating moments of great beauty.
